Based on the research which has ever done several time ado by Bandung Technology Institute (ITB) which cooperates with Japan Institute Mitsubishi Research has successfully created the fuel oil from 100 % natural castor oil. The form of fuel oil from this castor oil such as cooking oil, thick, slick and the smell is not gaudy. In the 10 kilos the smashed seeds of castor will produce 3.5 liters which can be used as exchange of solar oil.
The oil from this castor plant becomes a new innovation with friendly to the environment because this kind of fuel oil can decrease the air pollution. The castor plant is the only plant whose seeds are rich of hydroxyl fatty acid that is Ricinoleat acid. The coming of this fatty acid makes seed castor oil having the thickness which is stable to the high temperature so that castor oil is used by many people as the mixture of lubricant. Jatropha Curcas nick name of castor plant has been known by the rural society widely.
Beside that the plant with the Chinese name “Ma Feng Shu” can be planted as the fence of the house, at park or at funeral. In Sumatera Island this plant is named by Nawaih Nawas, Jarak Kosta in Sulawesi, Lulu Nau in Nusa Tenggara and Muunmav in Maluku. According to the story from many people, in the age of Japan colonialism, the citizens were forced to plat the castor plants.
